Responsibilities:
- Operate and drive the hydrovac truck to excavation sites in a safe and efficient manner.
- Set up and prepare the hydrovac truck for operation, including connecting hoses and checking equipment functionality.
- Safely and accurately operate the high-pressure water system to break up soil and materials around underground utilities.
- Operate the vacuum system to remove excavated materials from the excavation site and into the truck’s debris tank.
- Ensure proper disposal of debris and comply with environmental and waste management regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the hydrovac truck to ensure its safe and optimal operation.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate with the team and communicate effectively to ensure efficient excavation and completion of projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including excavation details, material quantities, and equipment maintenance.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements, depending on jurisdiction requirements.
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment, such as hydrovac trucks, excavators, or similar machinery.
- Knowledge of excavation techniques, safety regulations, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, and utility locate markings.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy hoses and equipment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in various outdoor environments and adapt to different weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts, based on project requirements.

- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
